Tour De Roses : Fin de Tournée Magique Pour Theophilus London

La tournée Tour De Roses de Theophilus London s’est terminée à Montréal le 18 février dernier, dans le cadre du Festival MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE. L’artiste a ouvert la soirée en compagnie de son DJ, en chantant son tout dernier single LVRS Anthem. On pouvait sentir, lors de l’arrivée sur scène du rappeur originaire de Brooklyn, une certaine fatigue qui marquait bel et bien la fin de 35 concerts en Amérique du Nord. London s’est toutefois ressaisi après 3 chansons, lorsqu’un guitariste et un bassiste l’ont rejoint sur scène pour offrir une prestation des plus flamboyantes.
Tour De Roses: Theophilus London Caps Off a Spellbinding Tour
Theophilus London’s Tour De Roses tour wrapped in Montreal on February 18, as part of the city’s annual Montréal En Lumière Festival. The musician kicked off the night with his DJ, performing his latest single, “LVRS Anthem”. One could sense a certain fatigue when the Brooklyn-bred rapper first hit the stage, having reached the very end of a whirlwind 35-date concert tour throughout North America. But London picked things up after song three, when a guitarist and bassist joined him on stage to deliver a dazzling, dare we say flamboyant performance!
Il planait une ambiance mystique dans la salle, une vague impression d’être ailleurs qu’au Club Soda. En l’instant d’un concert, nous nous sommes retrouvés dans un London underground, un FABRIC enfumé emplis d’une foule éclectique à souhait, où se côtoyait mannequins, journalistes et artistes dont le célèbre STROMAE, que nous avons aperçu, bien discret au-devant de la scène.
An otherworldly feel took over the venue, one that gave the distinct impression of being very, very far away from Club Soda. For the span of a concert, patrons found themselves transported to London’s bustling underground, to a smoky FABRIC taken over by a completely enamoured crowd of models, journalists and artists – including Belgian electronic sensation STROMAE, whom we noticed, ever-so discreet, taking in the show near the front of the stage.
« I hope you don’t believe we’re almost done ‘cause this, was only the prelude! » s’est exclamé Theophilus entre deux chansons. L’homme qui n’a qu’un seul album à son actif a présenté plus d’une vingtaine de chansons, principalement des extraits d’un LP qui sortira à la mi-mars. London a célébré cette fin de tournée en compagnie de ses amis, qu’il est allé chercher à plusieurs reprises en arrière-scène. D’ailleurs, à l’instar d’une de ses amies, Theophilus a fait quelques balades en crowd surfing à travers le public.
“I hope you don’t believe we’re almost done ‘cause this was only the prelude!” assured Theophilus in between songs. The singer with merely an album under his belt delivered over 20 songs, chiefly excerpts from an LP that will hit shelves mid-March. London wrapped up his tour in the company of friends, whom he amusingly yanked out of backstage on more than one occasion. In fact, after being prompted by one such friend, Theophilus delivered a few hits while crowd surfing his way through fans.
La soirée s'est terminée avec un Theophilus London se déhanchant sur la console du DJ (voir photo prise de son compte INSTAGRAM) et des spectateurs dansant sur la scène. Un after-party de tournée qui aurait pu durer toute la nuit si la sécurité n’avait pas dû évacuer les lieux, fin de spectacle oblige. Qu’importe, la dernière représentation de Tour de Roses demeurera mémorable pour Theophilus London et ses fans montréalais!
The night came to an end with Theophilus swaying those hips and shaking that thing on the DJ console (see photo taken by his INSTAGRAM account) and a slew of admirers dancing on stage. A Tour De Roses after party would surely have taken everyone well into the wee hours, if security hadn’t been obliged to clear out the venue after performers called it a wrap. Nevertheless, this final stop on the Tour de Roses tour will have been a most memorable one for Theophilus London and his Montreal fans!
