Break Science and Nerve @ Brooklyn Bowl

break science

Brooklyn's own Break Science (pictured) will be having their EP release party for Monolith Code this upcoming Thursday at Brooklyn Bowl. The duo consisting of Adam Deitch and Borahm have years of experience producing and performing on tracks for some of the most vital artists in the business, ranging from hip-hop royalty like The Fugees and Talib Kweli, to reggae legend Lee "Scratch" Perry. Their new release, Monolithic Code, is an excercise in mixing the synthetic with the organic, or as Deitch describes, "We understand that to bring our vision to life, we have to spend just as much time on the programmed elements as we do on the live elements. Our goal is to blend these elements seamlessly, so everything comes together in an organic way."

Also performing will be Nerve, the live electronica trio led by Jojo Mayer. Mayer has had a long history of well accomplished drum work, having played with both Dizzy Gillespie and Nina Simone, as well as being a member of the Monty Alexander group. Nerve has been a key component in the live electronica scene, mixing heavy live percussion with the rhythm and trans-like repetition of techno.

Both bands will be well poised for Brooklyn Bowl's spacious, dance-ready accommodations.
