Christian Petersen's Animated GIF Gay Pride Flag for Société Perrier
Gay Pride Week shifts into high gear this weekend with a series of parties and celebrations taking place all over the Big Apple. To mark this important annual event, Société Perrier commissioned Seattle by way of the UK artist Christian Petersen (Dumb Eyes) to present his own digital take on the Pride flag (see above).
"I've always loved rainbows and the use of the rainbow in art and design, and I have often used them in my own work," says Petersen, who is the art director and curator of I Want You magazine, Gif Lords, The Action! International Film Club and the audio/visual club night Penetration.
"I wanted to find a way to combine the iconic rainbow flag with the iconic Perrier bottle in a simple and graphically strong way that would reflect the exuberance, fun and energy of Pride itself."
