Christopher Logan Captures 'Tragic Glamour' in New Exhibit
Most of us know Richie Rich as an infamous NYC club kid, a professional party-hopper, and one half of the Heatherette fashion house. His neon wardrobe and spunky personality is fitting for the late-night, downtown scene, but during the light of day it can appear a bit out of place, even in a city that celebrates eccentricity. This is the theme of Christopher Logan's new exhibit, Tragic Glamour.
Opening July 10 at Soho's Pop International Galleries, the collection of large-scale images star Rich alongside his boyfriend Ross Higgins. Fashion director Derek Warburton styled the project, employing bold, brightly-colored looks that would likely be deemed over-the-top for anyone but these two. On the evening of July 11 Logan and Warburton are joining their muses at Pop International for a private showing of the exhibit. A portion of the night's proceeds will benefit the Bailey House, a homeless shelter for those living with HIV/AIDS. While the exhibit takes its theme from the sometimes tragic impact of fame's fleeting nature, the real tragedy would be missing a chance to see it.
