CloudSourcing: Tobacco from Black Moth Super Rainbow

Boasting a heady sonic signature oozing with elements of electronic music, psychedelia and noise, Tobacco's Black Moth Super Rainbow has been championing a singular style for nearly ten years. The acclaimed and somewhat mysterious outfit from Pittsburgh recently released their fifth album, Cobra Juicy, which came to fruition thanks to fan support of their Kickstarter campaign.

When it comes to the music frontman Tobacco (who also records solo) listens to for his own enjoyment, we weren't surprised to learn that his interests run the gamut from electronic to metallic.

Black Moth Super Rainbow play Bowery Ballroom on December 5 and Music Hall of Williamsburg on December 6.

1. Turquoise Summers
I can listen to this song on repeat. I hope he/they wouldn't be bothered by me saying this, but it's similar to Dam Funk, but maybe even more laid back somehow. I love biking trails to this.

2. Rusted Shut
One of my favorite bands ever. The sound like a meaner Motörhead with texture.

3. Brian Grainger
This song is wetter than a motherfucker to begin with, then Nick from Freescha oozes all up inside it and it goes to the next state of being.

4. Thought Broadcast
This is the album I've been listening to lately, and I feel like a psychopath when I have it on but it's cool.

5. Principles of Geometry
If these guys were from here, I think a lot more people would be listening.
