Das Racist, The Non-Interview...Interview
Unconventional, animated, charming, humorous, controversial, weird. Since invading the Internets with their sleeper track "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell," and releasing two mixtapes in 2010, Shut Up, Dude and Sit Down, Man the New York hip-hop duo Das Racist have been called many things — but dull has never been one of them. MCs Kool A.D, Heems and Dap live up to their well deserved hype during our recent pre-tour haircut chat with them on a chilly afternoon at Blind Barber a day after releasing their debut album, Relax. Some things learned during our interview-turned-laugh-session:
1. Heems and Dapwell look nothing alike. Really.
2. They have the most impressive knowledge of Dipset ad-libs this writer has ever seen.
3. Vic, aka Kool A.D.'s description of D'Angelo's pelvic muscles as a "schwoope" is strangely fitting.
4. Don't internalize that girl.
