Event Recap: Creative Time Sandcastles Competition at Rockaway Beach [Gallery]
It's been a few years since we last made a sandcastle but this past Friday's the Creative Time Sandcastles competition at Rockaway Beach not only reminded us how fun it is to dig around at the beach, the artwork we witnessed blew us away.
Over a dozen artists dressed in swimsuits shoveled, smoothed and shaped replicas of monuments, bodies and faces on the Rockaway Beach shore. The winners were Jennifer Catron and Paul Outlaw for their piece "The Human Fountain." William Lamson and Jen DeNike landed the second and third prize for their work, respectively.
