Kitsuné Comes To New York
Kitsuné stores have already made their mark in Europe, but now the Kitsuné cottage empire is about to take a giant step closer to covering the globe, with the opening of the first Maison Kitsuné store in North America. Of course, many Americans have long been keenly aware of France's Kitsuné, initially founded by Gildas Loaëc as both a fashion house and a record label. But up until now, if fashion-forward consumers in the U.S. wanted to snap up something from the company, they had to turn their eyes abroad.
As of March 29, that will no longer be the case. That's the date that the NoMad hotel at Broadway and 28th Street in New York City will begin hosting the new Kitsuné store, in a sleekly appointed 1,000 square foot retail space. But that's not the only inroad the company will be making in America -- the musical arm of Kitsuné has just released its new compilation album, Parisien II, in the States, featuring such artists as Beataucue, We Are Knights, and Owelle, among many others. There's even a Kitsuné America compilation set for a May 7 release. And the Kitsuné Club Night tour will take Crystal Fighters, Gilgamesh, Computer Magic, and others everywhere from Miami to New York throughout March. In the meantime, you can catch a taste of Parisien II courtesy of Soundcloud below, or even stream the whole damn deal here.
