Major Lazer continues along on its mission to bring the world bass. Today the act announced the upcoming release of its second album, Free The Universe, due out on November 5, and this weekend they are about to tear through Philadelphia (Saturday, August 4) and New York (Sunday, August 5), headlining Mad Decent Block Parties in both cities, respectively.
With both parties only a few days away, Jillionaire from Major Lazer kindly whipped up a Spotify playlist exclusively for Société Perrier featuring songs by Toots & The Maytals, Sean Paul and Mr. Vegas.
"I just chose some tracks that are mashing up in Trinidad and Jamaica right now, and that have been getting a good response in our live show," he tells us. "We have 'dubplates' (special VIP versions) of some of these songs, so I thought I'd highlight the originals as well."
What kind of experience can fans expect to have at both events this weekend? "The Mad Decent Block Parties are actually gonna be our last two North American gigs this summer, and we're really looking forward to them," Jillionaire tell uss. "It all started in Philly, and New York is like a second home to all of us so we're definitely pulling out all the stops. We've been ramping up our production over the last few shows and we've got a few special surprises! Can't let anything out of the bag but just make sure you're in Philly on Saturday on NYC on Sunday."
