2012: O Ano de Marilyn Monroe
Este ano definitivamente será o ano de Marilyn Monroe. Entre diversas homenagens à diva, o ano em que se completam 50 anos de sua morte será marcante para a história da grande estrela de Hollywood.
This year will definitely be the year of Marilyn Monroe. Among many tributes to the diva, 2012, which marks the 50th anniversary of her death, will be full of tributes to the iconic Hollywood star.
A primeira homenagem aconteceu com o lançamento mundial do filme “Sete Dias Com Marilyn” que chegou aos cinemas no dia 10 de fevereiro. O longa tem atuação de Michelle Williams interpretando Marilyn e mostrando um lado menos conhecido de Marilyn.
The first honor came with the world premiere of the movie "My Week With Marilyn" which hit theaters February 10th. The film features Michelle Williams playing a quiet, intimate Monroe in London for the filming of “The Prince and the Showgirl” with Sir Laurence Olivier.
O roteiro foi inteiramente escrito baseando-se no livro de Colin Clark chamado “The Prince, The Show Girl and Me”. No filme o personagem de Colin Clark se envolve em uma aventura amorosa com Marilyn Monroe durante as gravações do filme “O príncipe encantado”. Na época em que tudo isso aconteceu, Marilyn era considerada a mulher mais sexy e mais desejada do planeta.
The screenplay was based entirely on the book by former film staffer Colin Clark called "The Prince, the Showgirl and Me," in which Clark recounts his brief affair with Monroe. At the time, Monroe was considered the sexiest and most desirable woman on Earth.

Nos dias de hoje estes títulos pouco mudaram, Marilyn continua sendo admirada e referência de feminilidade e sensualidade, fato que nos leva para outra homenagem que acontecerá em São Paulo a partir do dia 4 de março. A exposição chamada “Quero ser Marilyn Monroe” tomará conta da Cinemateca Brasileira em São Paulo e trará cerca de 125 obras de artistas como Andy Warhol, Peter Blake, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Cecil Beaton, Ernst Haas entre outros diversos que retrataram a diva. Entre elas estão fotografias históricas e uma mostra dos melhores filmes atuados por Marilyn Monroe.

Monroe remains admired worldwide and is still an icon of femininity and sensuality, which is why another tribute to the screen goddess is happening closer to home, beginning March 4th. The exhibition titled "Quero Ser Marilyn Monroe” (“I Want to Be Marilyn Monroe"), organized by the Cinemateca Brasileira in São Paulo, unites about 125 works by various artists depicting the diva. Among them are historical photographs and a showcase of the best films starring Monroe.
