Uma dessas raridades é o Atelier Liége Monteiro, que fica nos Jardins. Ao passar pela porta, não tem como identificar o lugar como um bar, ou um espaço aberto ao público. A entrada é bem pequena e não tem placa. Mas lá dentro você vai encontrar mais do que esperava.
One of the places is the Atelier Liége Monteiro, that is located in the Jardins neighborhood. After walking through the door you can’t identify the place as a bar, or place that is open for the public. It does not have any signs indicating that it is a restaurant and bar, and the entrance is really small. But inside you will find a place that will surpass your expectations.
Entre muitas obras de arte, livros e decoração kitsch estão três ambientes com bar, palco e um jardim externo com algumas mesas. Lá a proprietária da casa Liége e seu marido recebem convidados, amigos e agregados todas as quintas-feiras na festa chamada Quinta dos Infernos. Também rolam apresentações de bandas que tocam desde o jazz até o samba-rock. O clima é bem intimista, todo mundo conversa com todo mundo e é ótimo para conhecer gente e passar a frequentar o lugar e as reuniões dos grupos de amigos.
Among many works of art, books and a kitsch décor, there are three different rooms; the bar, a stage and an external garden with a few tables. The owner of the Liége house and her husband receive guests and friends every Thursday in a party called “Quinta dos Infernos.” Ou hell’s Thursday. There is also live music, which play from jazz to samba-rock. The place has a very intimate atmosphere, that allows everybody to talk to everybody, which is great to meet new people, and start to go attend the night as a meeting place for a group of friends.
