そんなTOKYOの最高のシチュエーションにある「Peterバー」はザ・ペニンシュラ東京の最上階、24階に位置するインターナショナルキュイジーヌレストランPeterに併設するバーです。
専用のエレベータでアクセスする特別な場所。昼間からオープンしていて、大きく開放的な窓からは汐留や日比谷公園の緑を眺めることができます。陽が暮れた後は、周辺のオフィスビルをバックに、レストランの照明やワイングラスが窓に反射し、幻想的な雰囲気へと変化する。シガーをのんびりと楽しむこともできます。
インテリアは、NYのティファニーやＷホテルタイムズスクエアを手がけた、カナダのデザインチーム「ヤブ・プッシェルバーグ」による、深い紫色とラベンダー色を基調に、木とスチールという異素材同士を組み合わせた個性豊かな空間です。
Peterバーのシニアバーテンダーの鎌田真理さんは、都内ホテルのラウンジ、バーにて約10年間バーテンダーとして経験を積んだ後、2007年9月のザ・ペニンシュラ東京オープン時より、Peterバーにてシニアバーテンダーとしてバーを統括しています。これまで、国内の様々なカクテルコンペティションにて受賞し、2009年にワールドクラス カクテルコンペティション日本大会にて優勝、日本代表としてロンドンで開催された世界大会に出場。サービスシアターチャレンジにて1位、総合2位となりました。

Peter: The Bar @ The PeninsulaTokyo
“A bar commanding a wonderful view can be the best ally for a person aiming to open the way to the future.” As these words suggest, if you enjoy your favorite drink in a room with an open feeling, your ideas are released to expand limitlessly, and Peter: The Bar, blessed by the best location in Tokyo, allows you to experience this. It opens on the 24th, on the top floor of The Peninsula Tokyo hotel, adjacent to Peter, an international cuisine restaurant. This is a special place to which one is led by a dedicated elevator from the lobby. The bar is open from daytime on. Its large windows with their sense of openness provide visitors with breathtaking views that include the Shiodome area and the lush greenery ofHibiyaPark. After sunset, the atmosphere turns fantastic, with the illumination of the restaurant and the glittering of wine glasses reflected by the windows, and with surrounding office buildings in the background. One can relax and enjoy a fine cigar.
Its interior was designed by Yabu Pushelberg, a Canadian design team who has also designed for Tiffany & Co. and the W Hotel Times Square inNew York City. Based on dark purple and lavender colors, wood and steel, materials of different natures, are combined, producing unique space.
Mari Kamata, with over 10 years experience as a bartender at hotel lounges and bars inTokyo, has supervised the bar as Senior Bartender since September 2007, when The Peninsula Tokyo opened. She has received awards at various cocktail competitions inJapan. She won first prize at the World Class 2009 Cocktail Competition Japan Final and participated in the Global Final held inLondonas the representative ofJapan, where she came in first in the service theater challenge and second overall.
