Upcoming Event: Happy Ending @ Bright Pearl Seafood Restaurant
Thought Chinatown was only a place for cheap food and tapioca bubble tea? Think again. Mansion and Scion Sessions are teaming up to present Happy Endings at the Bright Pearl Seafood restaurant. Mansion has hosted more than a dozen of these left-field electronic music parties at dim sum restaurants across Chinatown for the past 3 years. This Friday, the event will include local and international DJs.
To kick things off, Toronto based up and comer Egyptrixx will be spinning alongside rap and dance producer Exeter. David Psutka (aka Egyptrixx) likes to refer to his genre as “celestial club music”. As a classically trained pianist, his knowledge runs deep and you can expect to hear anything from house, techno, and dubstep to gothy drone rock. Psutka has spent the past two years travelling and touring, particularly gaining appraisal in the UK by BBC radio jocks and clubbers alike.
Up next, UK electronic musician Scuba, now based in Berlin, will be spinning his unique dubstep beats. His Hotflush Recording label has been the medium for some of the most original producers in dubstep, including Mount Kimbie, Benga, and Jay Orbison.
