Brooklyn artist duo FAILE are wizards at mingling street culture with pop culture with culture-culture, essentially democratizing art. They truly outdid themselves at this year’s Miami Art Week, with “The FAILE BÄST Deluxx Fluxx Arcade 2013 Miami Beach Presented by Perrier,” an uplifting video-arcade experience made up of wholly original games, with assists from artist BÄST and soundtrack-man Seth Jabour.

A whirl of neon lights and 8-bits and blings, the installation included old-school stand-up games, jolting pinball machines and retina-palpitating foosball tables that referenced Miami Vice and WWE alike. Senses were aroused; fun was had.

If art can be thought-provoking, FAILE taught us that it can can be just as entertaining — to kids, to hipsters, to art insiders. Here’s a video that captures that spirit during five exhilarating days in Miami earlier this month.
