New York Celebrates the Legacy of Adam Yauch with MCA Day

By Doug Bleggi

The loss of Beastie Boy Adam Yauch on May 4 to cancer is a sting that is still being felt throughout the world, but especially for the residents of the late rapper’s home turf of New York City. To commemorate the life of the tremendous and influential talent, fans from all over the Big Apple will be congregating at Union Square on Saturday to pay tribute to the New York icon by sharing stories, singing songs and getting down to the Beastie Boys’ music. “This celebration will be a physical form of a true Beastie Boys song. Eclectic people sharing different words and ideas, coming together in unison, fusing together on the same beat to celebrate life, have fun and be part of something incredible.” The celebration starts at 11 AM.
